What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel module (SWM) has detected faults in communication with other control modules on the LIN network. The fault may be in the steering wheel module or in another part of the network, since the central electronic module (CEM) oversees communication. The cruise control stops working for as long as the fault remains.
Possible causes
- Communication problems between the steering wheel module (SWM) and the other control modules
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in every control module, since the cause may lie in another part of the network
- 2Check the battery and make sure the voltage is normal
- 3Clear the fault code and check whether it returns during a road test
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the steering wheel module (SWM); it is replaced in the event of a permanent fault
Symptoms you may notice1
- The cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- The cruise control is disabled until the steering wheel module receives a correct signal again
