What does this fault code mean?
The steering wheel module (SWM) has registered that communication with the other control modules over the LIN network is disturbed or missing. The fault may be in the steering wheel module but could also be elsewhere in the network, since the central electronic module (CEM) oversees the communication. While the fault is present, the cruise control is switched off.
Possible causes
- Communication problems between the steering wheel module (SWM) and other control modules
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in all control modules before replacing anything
- 2Check that the battery has normal voltage
- 3Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether the cruise control works
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the steering wheel module (SWM), which is replaced in the event of a permanent fault
Symptoms you may notice1
- The cruise control does not work at all
What the fault can affect1
- The cruise control is disabled until the steering wheel module receives a correct signal again
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
