What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-controlled code, meant as information, and it does not indicate a fault in the control module. It is set when the engine has stopped suddenly, for example if lock-up was wrongly engaged when the car stopped, or if the car rolled backwards with the selector in a position.
Possible causes
- The car has rolled backwards while the selector was in a position
- The engine cut out because the fuel ran short
- Mechanical fault in the engine
- Lock-up incorrectly engaged when the vehicle is stopped
What you can do
- 1This is an information code and does not point to a fault in the control module; if it does not return, no action is needed
- 2Clear the fault code and check whether it comes back
- 3If the engine stops without the fuel having run out, have a workshop check the engine for a mechanical fault
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is lit
- Gear shifts are harsh
- No gear shifts
- The gears slip abnormally
What the fault can affect2
- Adaptation is blocked
- Neutral check is blocked
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
