What does this fault code mean?

The transmission oil temperature sensor sits in the oil sump and gives the control module the oil temperature. The control module has registered that the temperature changes too quickly, either rising or falling too fast. The fault can be a damaged sensor.

What you can do

1If you have a diagnostic tool: read the oil temperature from both sensors in live data and compare it with room temperature
2Road test the car with some gear changes, then read the oil temperature again; both sensors should have risen by roughly the same amount
3Have a workshop read out the extended fault code information, as it shows more about the fault
4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit, since the fault is then inside the transmission control module or its components
