What does this fault code mean?
The transmission oil runs too hot because the oil cooling is not sufficient. The cause can be poor oil cooling, a mechanical fault in the transmission, or heavy load and high ambient temperature.
Possible causes
- Poor oil cooling
- Mechanical fault in the transmission
- The transmission has been exposed to heavy load and high ambient temperature
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the oil cooler and hoses for damage and blockage
- 2Have a workshop change the transmission fluid and reset the adaptation and oil quality counter after the check
- 3Clear the fault code and check whether it returns
- 4If the fault remains after the oil change, have a workshop check the transmission for a mechanical fault
Symptoms you may notice2
- The general orange warning lamp is lit
- The automatic transmission warning light blinks
