What does this fault code mean?
The control module has previously registered an internal fault in its EEPROM memory, but the fault is no longer present. If the fault is intermittent it has occurred at an earlier time and no longer shows, so the code indicates a fault that has happened before but is not active right now.
Possible causes
- Faulty software in the control module
- Internal fault in the control module
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and road test the car; if it does not come back the fault has gone
- 2If the fault code comes back, a workshop can check the control module's software, since the fault may be in the control module
- 3Read off the fault codes again after a few drives to see whether the fault comes back
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The control module's Emergency mode I program is activated while the fault is present
