What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module receives signals from the gear selector module (GSM) over the communication line. The fault means the signal from the gear selector module is missing.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Break in the communication line
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and check whether it comes back
- 2Press the brake, move the selector between the different positions and check that the gear updates in the instrument panel
- 3Check the earth connection at the A-pillar for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Have a workshop check the communication line; if no fault is found there, the circuit board in the selector top panel may need replacing

- No gear position shown on the gear selector panel
