What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module has incorrect software for the car and needs reloading with the version that belongs to it. The software must be correct for the control module to work as it should.
Possible causes
- Incorrect software in the transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop order the correct software for the car's model and program the transmission control module
- 2Once the software is loaded, road test the car and read off the fault codes to confirm the fault is remedied
- 3If the fault remains after programming, the transmission control module needs replacing; a workshop does this and programs the new one
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
