What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module stores current information, such as fault codes, adaptations and frozen values, in its permanent memory. The fault means the control module has not managed to save this information correctly in the permanent memory.
Possible causes
- Internal fault inside the transmission control unit (TCM)
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read off and note any other transmission fault codes before clearing anything, since clearing removes all stored information
- 2Have a workshop reload the transmission software through the software manager; the fault may lie in the software
- 3If the fault remains after reloading, the control module or the mechatronic unit may be damaged; a workshop then replaces and programs the new part

- Vibrations or jerks when shifting
What the fault can affect2
- The control module falls back to a basic value for the adaptation
- Any stored fault codes may disappear
