What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module monitors the power supply and compares it with a voltage value from the central electronic module (CEM). The fault means the voltage is too high for the control module's function to be guaranteed.
Possible causes
- Battery voltage too low
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors to the control module or the transmission
- A battery charger with the wrong voltage has been used
- Internal fault inside the transmission control unit (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage with the engine running; it should be roughly the battery voltage
- 2Check that no battery charger is connected; if a charger with too high a voltage was used earlier, that may be the cause
- 3Check that the charging system does not give too high a charge
- 4Have a workshop check the connectors to the control module and the transmission and, if no fault is found, the control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on
- General warning lamp on
What the fault can affect3
- The adaptation and lock-up function are blocked
- Slip lock-up is blocked
- The Emergency mode 1 program is activated
