What does this fault code mean?
The throttle solenoid SLT has been registered with an intermittent fault, where the control module at some point lacked a signal in the circuit. The fault does not have to be present now. Meanwhile gear changes can become harsh, because the engine receives no request for torque limiting.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Open circuit in the control signal wire or signal wire
- Defective solenoid SLT
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, road test and see whether it returns
- 2Check the connectors and wiring between the gearbox and the control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the solenoid has no break
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: see in live data whether the SLT pressure solenoid changes status while driving
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the solenoid and the control module
Symptoms you may notice5
- The orange general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
- The lock-up function does not work
- Harsh gear changes
- The automatic transmission warning lamp flashes
What the fault can affect2
- The control module emergency program Emergency mode I is activated
- The engine control module receives no request for torque limiting during gear changes
