What does this fault code mean?
Linear pressure solenoid SLC1 gives a faulty signal. The control module has measured a current in the circuit that does not match what is expected, so SLC1 cannot regulate the system pressure. This can cause slipping, harsh or missing gear changes.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Open circuit in the control signal or signal ground wire
- The linear pressure solenoid has stuck
- The linear pressure solenoid does not function
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, road test and see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the SLC1 solenoid value in live data during a road test and see whether it changes as gears are engaged
- 3If the value does not change, the fault is permanent; a workshop should then check the solenoid, which may be stuck
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the solenoid is not broken
- 5Have a workshop check the connectors to the control module for contact resistance and oxidation
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
- Harsh gear changes
- Gear changes do not occur
- Gears slip abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- An auxiliary program in the control module is activated
