What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code is named too low signal, it concerns a current in the circuit to linear pressure solenoid SLC2 that is too high. The solenoid cannot then be controlled correctly, and gear changes can become slipping, harsh or fail to occur.
Possible causes
- Control signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- The linear pressure solenoid does not function
- Internal fault inside the TCM
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and road test; if it returns, the fault is still present
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the SLC2 solenoid has no contact with the battery positive
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the SLC2 solenoid value in live data during a road test and see whether it changes
- 4Check that the wiring from the gearbox is not chafed or pinched
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop decide whether the solenoid or the control module needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
- Gears slip abnormally
- Harsh gear changes
- Gear changes do not occur
What the fault can affect1
- An auxiliary program in the control module is activated
