What does this fault code mean?
Linear pressure solenoid SLC2 gives too high a signal: the control module has measured a current in the circuit that is higher than allowed. The solenoid cannot then be controlled properly, which affects the system pressure and gear changes.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- The linear pressure solenoid does not function
- Internal fault inside the TCM
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, road test, then note whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the solenoid has no contact with the battery positive
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the SLC2 solenoid value in live data during a road test
- 4Check the wiring from the gearbox for chafing and loose connectors
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the solenoid and the control module
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
- Gears slip abnormally
- Harsh gear changes
- Gear changes do not occur
What the fault can affect1
- An auxiliary program in the control module is activated
