What does this fault code mean?
Linear pressure solenoid SLC3 gives too high a signal: the control module has measured a current in the circuit that is higher than allowed. The solenoid cannot then be controlled as it should, and gear changes are affected.
Possible causes
- Control signal lead short-circuited to supply voltage
- The linear pressure solenoid does not function
- Internal fault inside the TCM
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the SLC3 solenoid has no contact with the battery positive
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the SLC3 solenoid value in live data during a road test
- 4Check the connectors and wiring from the gearbox for chafing and loose connections
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the solenoid and the control module
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
- Gears slip abnormally
- Harsh gear changes
- Gear changes do not occur
What the fault can affect1
- An auxiliary program in the control module is activated
