What does this fault code mean?
The control module has registered that the current in the circuit of the SLC3 solenoid is incorrect. SLC3 then cannot regulate the system pressure, which can cause harsh gear changes, missed gear changes or slipping.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Open circuit in the control signal or signal ground wire
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC3 stuck
- Linear pressure solenoid SLC3 does not function
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, road test and see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the SLC3 solenoid value in live data and see whether it changes when gears are engaged
- 3If the value does not change, the fault remains, and a workshop should check whether the solenoid has stuck
- 4Check that the wiring from the gearbox is not chafed or pinched
- 5If the wiring checks out, have a workshop replace the control system or the solenoid
Symptoms you may notice5
- The general warning lamp is lit
- The malfunction indicator lamp is lit
- Harsh gear changes
- Gear changes do not occur
- Gears slip abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- An auxiliary program in the control module is activated
