What does this fault code mean?
The hall sensor in the gear selector gives a faulty signal. The control module has registered that the gear-blocking solenoid is activated while the hall sensor is inactive, or that gear positions R, N and D are received while the sensor is active. This points to the sensor not working.
Possible causes
- The hall sensor is not functioning
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and road test to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the gear-blocking status and the hall sensor status in live data as the selector leaves P, and see whether they agree
- 3Have a workshop check the hall sensor and replace the circuit board or the selector module if needed
- 4After the repair, a workshop should check that the gear block works when the brake is pressed and the selector leaves P
