What does this fault code mean?
The power supply to the gear selector module (GSM) is short-circuited to supply voltage, and the control module registers this as a fault. The cause is a damaged connector or wire, or a damaged gear selector module.
Possible causes
- Connector or wire is damaged
- Damaged gear selector module (GSM)
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: depress the brake, move the selector to M and towards + and -, and see whether the selected gear updates in live data
- 2Have a workshop check the gear selector connector and wire for damage
- 3If the connector and wire are intact, have a workshop replace the gear selector module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
