What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) has requested a movement of shift fork 1, but shift fork 2 moves instead. The cause lies in one of the solenoids that controls whether the odd or the even gears are used, and the fault means the mechatronic unit must be replaced.
Possible causes
- Damaged solenoid for selecting odd gears
- Damaged solenoid for selecting even gears
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module and deal first with any codes that may share the same cause
- 2The fault means the mechatronic unit must be replaced, and a workshop should do this
- 3If the control module is also replaced, it must be programmed by a workshop, because a replacement control module arrives without software
- 4Then read out the fault codes again to see whether the fault code remains
Symptoms you may notice5
- Check engine light comes on or behaves abnormally
- Text window with yellow warning symbol and message
- No automatic gear changes
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often, sometimes or all the time
- Gear changes take too long to complete, sometimes or all the time
