What does this fault code mean?
Shift fork 3 or 4 travels the wrong way compared with the one the TCM has requested. The cause lies in the second hydraulic valve for forks 3 and 4 or in the control solenoid for the valves, and the fault means the mechatronic unit must be replaced.
Possible causes
- Damaged second hydraulic valve
- Damaged control solenoid for the hydraulic valves
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module and deal first with any codes that may share the same cause
- 2The fault means the mechatronic unit must be replaced, and a workshop should do this
- 3If the control module is also replaced, it must be programmed by a workshop, because a replacement control module arrives without software
- 4Then read out the fault codes again to see whether the fault code remains
Symptoms you may notice5
- Check engine light comes on or behaves abnormally
- Message with yellow warning symbol in the display
- No automatic gear changes
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often, sometimes or all the time
- Gears shift hard or jerky, sometimes or all the time
