What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) has found that the adapted engagement pressure for one of the clutches is outside the permitted range. The transmission has two clutches, clutch 1 for odd gears and clutch 2 for even gears. The pressure is measured by pressure sensors and must stay within a tolerance.
Possible causes
- Leak in the hydraulic system
- Dirt in the hydraulic system
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module. If fault codes for the solenoids are stored, a workshop should replace the mechatronic unit
- 2Look for oil traces or signs of a leak under the transmission, since a leak or dirt in the hydraulic system can give the wrong pressure
- 3If the fault remains after the mechatronic unit has been replaced, the transmission must be replaced, and a workshop should do this
Symptoms you may notice2
- Gear changes take too long to complete, sometimes or all the time
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often, sometimes or all the time
