What does this fault code mean?

The incoming speed sensor, which sits at the clutch, shows an unreasonably high speed for the engine before the transmission's input shafts. The sensor signal is also used to check the other two speed sensors, so the fault affects that check.

What you can do

1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module. If several speed sensors show faults, the cause may instead lie in the control module
2If you have diagnostic equipment, compare the incoming speed value in live data with the engine speed while the engine is running and see whether it is reasonable
3Check the connector at the sensor by the clutch: see whether it is secure, clean and free from damage
4If the fault is inside the control module, it must be replaced; a new module is delivered without software and must be programmed by a workshop
