What does this fault code mean?
The pressure sensor for the clutch for odd gears gives too high a signal to the transmission control module (TCM). The sensor measures the pressure on the clutch, so a wrong value gives the control module incorrect information for controlling the clutch. The fault may come from a sensor wire short-circuited to supply voltage or from a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Pressure sensor short-circuited to supply voltage
- Pressure sensor for the clutch for odd gears is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module and deal first with any codes that may share the same cause
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the pressure sensor has no contact with the battery's positive supply
- 3The fault points to a damaged pressure sensor or a fault at its connection; the mechatronic unit must then be replaced, which a workshop should do
- 4If the fault is inside the control module, it must be replaced, and a new module is delivered without software and must be programmed by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice5
- Text window with yellow warning symbol and message
- Gears shift hard or jerky, sometimes or all the time
- No forward or reverse movement with a gear selected
- Gear changes take too long to complete, sometimes or all the time
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often, sometimes or all the time
