What does this fault code mean?
The pressure sensor for the clutch for even gears gives too low a signal to the transmission control module (TCM). Because the signal shows the clutch pressure, the control module cannot read it correctly. The fault may come from a sensor wire short-circuited to ground or from a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Pressure sensor short-circuited to ground
- Pressure sensor for the clutch for even gears is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module and deal first with any codes that may share the same cause
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the pressure sensor for even gears has no contact with ground (the car body)
- 3The fault points to a damaged pressure sensor or a fault at its connection; the mechatronic unit must then be replaced, which a workshop should do
- 4If the fault is inside the control module, it must be replaced, and a new module is delivered without software and must be programmed by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice5
- Text window with yellow warning symbol and message
- Gears shift hard or jerky, sometimes or all the time
- No automatic gear changes
- Gear changes take too long to complete, sometimes or all the time
- Shifts occur too early, too late or too often, sometimes or all the time
