What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module (TCM) has received poor-quality signals from the engine control module (ECM) over the CAN bus. The two control modules exchange many signals to protect the car's parts and keep driving safe and comfortable, and this code points to a fault in the engine control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1First read out the fault codes in the engine control module and in the central electronic module (CEM) and remedy them
- 2Do not clear this fault code until the codes in the engine control module and the CEM have been remedied and cleared
- 3If no codes are stored but the fault remains after clearing, have a workshop trace the CAN network
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
