What does this fault code mean?
The supply voltage to sensor group 2 in the transmission is too high. Sensor group 2 monitors the shift forks for the even gears. The cause is either a voltage cable to the sensors that has been shorted to supply voltage, or a damaged transmission control module.
Possible causes
- Voltage cable to the sensors shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-0519 and drive the car to see whether the code returns
- 2Inspect the cable to the sensors for chafing and pinch damage, especially where it could have touched a live wire
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cable has no contact with supply voltage (positive) when the ignition is off
- 4Have a workshop check the voltage to the sensors. If the fault is inside the transmission control module, it must be replaced
Symptoms you may notice5
- Malfunction Indicator Light (check engine) lit or behaving abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- No automatic gear changes
- Shifts hard or jerky
- Shifts too early, too late or too often
