What does this fault code mean?

The current in the circuit for solenoid CCFS, which controls the hydraulic oil used to cool the clutch, is too high. The solenoid sits in the transmission's mechatronic unit. The cause is a damaged or dirty connector or circuit board, a damaged solenoid, or a damaged transmission control module.

    Possible causes

    • Connector or circuit board damaged or dirty
    • Damaged solenoid
    • Damaged transmission control module (TCM)

    What you can do

    1. 1Read the fault codes and clear TCM-0562. Drive the car to see whether the code returns
    2. 2Have a workshop open the transmission control system and inspect the solenoid for corrosion, poor contact, dirt or metal build-up. Check the oil level
    3. 3If the fault was found and fixed, the mechatronic unit can be refitted. Otherwise a workshop needs to replace it

    Symptoms you may notice5

    • Malfunction Indicator Light (check engine) lit or behaving abnormally
    • Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
    • No automatic gear changes
    • Shifts too early, too late or too often
    • Gear changes take too long to complete

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
