What does this fault code mean?
The current measured at the output stage for solenoid CCFS exceeds the requested value. The solenoid controls the hydraulic oil used to cool the clutch and sits in the transmission's mechatronic unit. The fault is caused by a damaged or dirty connector or circuit board, a damaged solenoid, or a damaged transmission control module.
Possible causes
- Connector or circuit board damaged or dirty
- Damaged solenoid
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-0563 and drive the car
- 2Have a workshop check solenoid CCFS and its connectors visually for oxidation, dirt and metal deposits
- 3If the fault was found and fixed, the mechatronic unit can be refitted. Otherwise a workshop needs to replace the mechatronic unit
Symptoms you may notice4
- Malfunction Indicator Light (check engine) lit or behaving abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- Gear changes take too long to complete
- Shifts too early, too late or too often
