What does this fault code mean?
Solenoid SHCMS, which controls clutch cooling and the hydraulic pressure used for gear changes, has an open circuit. The solenoids in the mechatronic unit also control the shift forks so that the correct gear is engaged. The cause is a damaged or dirty connector or circuit board, a damaged solenoid, or a damaged transmission control module.
Possible causes
- Connector or circuit board damaged or dirty
- Damaged solenoid
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-0570 and drive the car to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop open the transmission control system and check the solenoid for corrosion, poor contact, dirt or metal build-up. Check the oil level as well
- 3If the fault was found and fixed, the mechatronic unit can be refitted. Otherwise a workshop needs to replace it
Symptoms you may notice5
- Malfunction Indicator Light (check engine) lit or behaving abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- The car may feel weak or lack power when pulling away from a standstill
- No forward or reverse movement with a gear selected
- Shifts hard or jerky
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
