What does this fault code mean?

Solenoid CSPS1 has an open circuit. The solenoid controls the hydraulic pressure over the clutch for the odd gears and sits in the transmission's mechatronic unit. The fault is caused by a damaged solenoid, a damaged or dirty connector or circuit board, or a damaged transmission control module.

What you can do

1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-05A0 and drive the car to see whether the code returns
2Have a workshop open the transmission control system and inspect solenoid CSPS1 for corrosion, poor contact, dirt or metal build-up
3Have a workshop check the transmission oil level
4If the fault was found and fixed, the mechatronic unit can be refitted. Otherwise a workshop must replace it
