What does this fault code mean?
Hydraulic pressure on clutch 1 (odd gears) reads higher than requested. The transmission controls the pressure using a hydraulic pump and solenoids. The cause may be a damaged power stage, a damaged solenoid CSPS1 or CSMS1, a damaged valve CSM1, or a damaged pressure or temperature sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged output stage, solenoid CSPS1
- Damaged pressure sensor
- Damaged solenoid CSPS1
- Damaged solenoid CSMS1
- Damaged valve CSM1, which routes the pressure between clutch and gear shifting
- Damaged temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-05A4 and drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check that the wiring to solenoid CSPS1 has no open circuit and no contact with ground
- 3Have a workshop read the pressure and temperature sensors with diagnostic equipment
- 4Have a workshop open the transmission control system and check the solenoids, valve CSM1 and the oil level. Replace the mechatronic unit if the fault cannot be fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- Shifts hard or jerky
- Gear changes take too long to complete
- Shifts too early, too late or too often
- No forward or reverse movement with a gear selected
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
