What does this fault code mean?

Solenoid CSPS1, which controls the hydraulic pressure over the clutch for the odd gears, is shorted to ground. The fault is caused by a damaged solenoid, damaged cables or a damaged circuit board, or a damaged transmission control module.

What you can do

1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-05A5 and drive the car with gear changes to see whether it returns
2Have a workshop open the transmission control system and check solenoid CSPS1 visually for oxidation, dirt and metal deposits
3If the fault was found and fixed, the mechatronic unit can be refitted. Otherwise a workshop must replace it
