What does this fault code mean?

The output stage for one of the solenoids in the transmission is shorted to ground. The cause is a damaged solenoid, a damaged or dirty connector or circuit board, or a damaged control module in the transmission.

What you can do

1Read the fault codes, clear TCM-05C3 and drive the car to see whether it comes back
2Have a workshop open the transmission control system and look at the solenoids and their contacts visually
3Have a workshop check the transmission oil level
4If the fault was found and fixed, the mechatronic unit can be refitted. Otherwise a workshop must replace it
