What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module has an empty EEPROM memory and therefore does not receive the car's configuration data. This happens after the memory has been erased or after the module has been replaced. The fault code is set while the memory is empty and is removed once the configuration has been read in again, so it should not remain once the configuration is in place.
Possible causes
- Damaged transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes and clear TCM-0600. Drive the car to see whether the code returns
- 2Have a workshop reload the transmission software and carry out a new complete readout with an update, so the configuration is entered
- 3If the fault remains after the reload, the mechatronic unit must be replaced by a workshop
