What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module is missing a vehicle speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) on the CAN network. The transmission uses this signal to check its speed and RPM sensors. The fault comes from a problem in the brake control module or from the CAN network.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM)
- Fault on the CAN
What you can do
- 1Start by reading the fault codes in the CEM and the brake control module and fix them. Do not clear TCM-0A01 until their fault codes are fixed
- 2Have a workshop carry out the fault tracing on the CAN network and the brake control module with diagnostic equipment
- 3Once the other fault codes are gone, drive the car and see whether TCM-0A01 comes back
- 4The brake system is safety-critical. If you suspect a fault, have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- General warning lamp lit.
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
