What does this fault code mean?
The gear position sensor in the transmission is not calibrated. To keep the selected gear position reliable, the selector cable has to be fitted properly, adjusted and then calibrated. The fault is caused by the gear selector cable being incorrectly installed or the gear position sensor not being calibrated.
Possible causes
- Gear selector cable incorrectly installed
- Gear position sensor not calibrated
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the gear selector cable is correctly installed and adjusted, then calibrate the gear position sensor
- 2Clear the fault code after calibration and move the gear selector through all gear positions to see whether it returns
- 3If the fault code is still stored after this, the transmission control module must be replaced by a workshop
