What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module sees a faulty reading from the gear position sensor. Although the code is titled as a calibration fault, the condition concerns the signal from the sensor. The fault is caused by the gear selector cable being incorrectly fitted or the gear position sensor not being calibrated.
Possible causes
- Gear selector cable incorrectly fitted
- Gear position sensor not calibrated
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the gear selector cable is correctly fitted and adjusted, then calibrate the gear position sensor
- 2Clear the fault code and move the gear selector through all gear positions to see whether it comes back
- 3If the fault code is still stored, the transmission control module must be replaced by a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
