What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-driven information code from the transmission control module, and it does not indicate a fault in that module. It is set when the transmission oil has been too hot for too long. The engine then limits its torque to protect the gearbox, which can be felt as a loss of power.
Possible causes
- The gearbox oil has been too hot for too long
What you can do
- 1This is an information code and needs no repair in itself; it clears when the gearbox has cooled down
- 2Drive the car gently until the gearbox has cooled and check that the power returns
- 3If the code comes back often, have a workshop read the oil temperature with diagnostic equipment and look at how the car is driven
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, follow the gearbox oil temperature in live data while driving and see how it develops
