TCM-P056300 - System voltage high. General fault information. No information on fault type
System
Transmission Control Module (TCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelXC90 (2003–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module has registered that the system voltage is too high. It compares the voltage with the value that the central electronic control module (CEM) sends on the CAN network. The cause may be a battery charger with the wrong voltage, or an internal fault in the transmission control module.
Possible causes
- A battery charger with the wrong voltage has been used
- Internal fault in the transmission control module
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment, read the voltage in live data with the engine idling and compare it with the battery
- 3Check that the battery terminals are tight and that no battery charger is connected
- 4Have a workshop check the charging system for too high a charging voltage and troubleshoot the CEM if no fault is found
- 5Have a workshop replace the transmission control module if it has an internal fault
Symptoms you may notice2
- The eco lamp is on
- General warning lamp on
What the fault can affect1
- The control module switches to an emergency program
