What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module has registered that communication between its processor and its memory is disturbed or missing. This may be a software fault or an internal fault in the module, and the shifts can then go wrong or stop.
Possible causes
- Software fault in the transmission control module
- Internal fault in the transmission control module
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code and clear it; road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop reload the transmission software and check that the correct version is installed
- 3Have a workshop replace the transmission control module if the fault remains after the reload; a new module must be programmed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Shifting takes too long
- The automatic gearbox shifts harshly or jerkily
- No manual shifting
- Kickdown does not work
- Engine braking does not work as it should
What the fault can affect1
- The transmission control module restarts itself
