What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module compares the signal ID sent by the central electronic control module (CEM) with the ID stored in its own software. If they do not match, the transmission software does not fit with the other software in the car, and the code is set.
Possible causes
- Faulty software in the transmission control module
- Faulty signal configuration from the central electronic control module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Has the software in the transmission control module been changed or downloaded recently? If so it may be the wrong version; have a workshop check this
- 2If the fault codes TCM-U210000 or TCM-U210100 are stored in the module, troubleshoot them first
- 3Have a workshop reprogram the transmission control module with the latest software from the software manager
- 4Have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit if the fault remains after reprogramming
Symptoms you may notice5
- General warning lamp on
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- No automatic shifting
- The lock-up function does not work
- The car lacks power
What the fault can affect1
- The control module switches to an emergency program
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
