What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module has not been able to save information correctly in its EEPROM memory, where permanent data such as fault codes and adaptation values are stored. The fault lies in the module and can cause vibration or jerking during shifts. It can also affect the car's emission values.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the transmission control module
- Damaged transmission control module
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and read it again after a road test
- 2Have a workshop reload the transmission software from the software manager; the fault may lie in the software
- 3Have a workshop replace the transmission control module if the fault remains; a new module must be programmed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Vibration or jerking during gear changes
- The malfunction indicator (Check engine) lamp comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- The automatic gearbox shifts harshly or jerkily
- No automatic shifting
What the fault can affect2
- The control module uses a default value for the adaptation
- Any stored fault codes may disappear
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
