What does this fault code mean?
The transmission control module has registered that a temperature sensor's signal rises or falls too quickly. The sensors in the gearbox measure the temperature of the oils and the electrical components, and a sensor inside the module's processor measures the processor temperature. The cause is a damaged sensor.

- The sensor is damaged
What you can do
- 1If you have diagnostic equipment, read the gearbox's two oil temperature sensors when the car has been standing cold; they should be roughly the same as room temperature
- 2Road test the car with a few gear changes and read the oil temperatures again; both should have risen by roughly the same amount, though some difference can occur
- 3Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 4Have a workshop read the extended fault code information with diagnostic equipment and decide whether the sensor or the control module needs replacing
