What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns a temperature sensor value that lies outside the possible range, meaning too low or too high. The sensor may sit in the gearbox or in the module's own processor. The cause is a damaged sensor.

What you can do
- 1If you have diagnostic equipment, read the gearbox's two oil temperature sensors when the car has been standing cold and compare them with room temperature
- 2Drive for a while with some gear changes and check that the two sensor values follow each other; some difference can exist because of their positions
- 3Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 4Have a workshop read the frozen values in the extended fault code information and decide whether the sensor or the control module needs replacing
