What does this fault code mean?
According to the transmission control module, the voltage to the position sensors for the even gears is too high. The cause may be a sensor supply wire that has contact with supply voltage, or a damaged transmission control module.
Possible causes
- Sensor supply wire shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged transmission control module
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2With the ignition off, check the wire to the position sensors for the even gears for chafing, damage and loose contacts
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire is not shorted to supply voltage
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, compare the voltage to the position sensors in live data with a known reference; a large difference suggests the module
- 5Have a workshop replace the transmission control module or the mechatronic unit if the fault remains

- The malfunction indicator (Check engine) lamp comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- No automatic shifting
- The automatic gearbox shifts harshly or jerkily
- Shifts too early, too late or too often
