What does this fault code mean?
One of the transmission temperature sensors gives a signal that changes too quickly: the temperature appears to rise or fall too fast to be realistic. The fault is stored as intermittent, meaning it came and went and may not be present right now.
Possible causes
- Damaged temperature sensor in the transmission
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: compare both oil temperature sensor values in live data with each other and with room temperature
- 2Road test the car with a few gear changes and check that both sensor values rise by about the same amount
- 3Read and clear the code, then road test to see whether it returns
- 4If the values do not agree, have a workshop check the sensor; the mechatronic unit is replaced only when needed
- 5If the code has been set many times and the warnings are a problem, have a workshop decide whether the control module should be replaced
