What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-driven information code and does not indicate a fault in the control module where it is active. It is always set together with another fault code, and that other code shows the real fault, so deal with that one first.
Possible causes
- Higher resistance at a connection
- Output shaft speed sensor not seated correctly
- Output shaft speed sensor not working
- A fault inside the TCM itself
What you can do
- 1Read all stored codes: this code is always set together with another one, which is the real fault
- 2Deal with the other code first, following its own instructions
- 3Then clear the codes and road test; this code does not need separate work
- 4If the other code returns after the repair, have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice5
- Lock-up does not work
- No automatic gear change
- Gear changes are harsh or jerky
- The PURE, SAVE and AWD drive modes switch off automatically and cannot be selected
- In HYBRID mode the combustion engine runs all the time or too often
What the fault can affect1
- Electric propulsion is not possible
