What does this fault code mean?
Shift fork 1 in the transmission has jumped out of reverse without any gear change being requested. The fault is mechanical, and the cause is a damaged shift fork.

What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then road test in reverse to see whether it returns
- 2Read the codes again; if certain other transmission codes remain, have a workshop decide whether the mechatronic unit should be replaced
- 3Have a workshop replace the mechatronic unit and carry out a road test, then read whether the code is still present
- 4If the code returns after that, have a workshop replace the transmission

- No forward or reverse movement in gear
- Gear changes happen too early, too late or too often
- Gear changes take a long time to complete
