What does this fault code mean?
The sensor that measures the input shaft speed for the odd gears 1, 3, 5 and reverse gives a value that is either too high or too low. The sensor sits inside the transmission, and its signal is also used to check the other two sensors.
Possible causes
- Damaged speed sensor
What you can do
- 1Read all codes: if the other speed sensors also have codes, the fault may lie in the control module that powers them
- 2Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 3Have a workshop replace the sensor; if the fault lies in the control module, it must be replaced and programmed by a workshop

- The malfunction indicator lamp (Check engine) comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- No forward or reverse movement in gear
- Gear changes are harsh or jerky
- Gear changes take a long time
