What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named inside or outside tolerance, it applies to the input shaft sensor for the odd gears giving a value that does not agree with other speed values. The signal is therefore erratic, and gear changes may be affected.
Possible causes
- Damaged speed sensor
What you can do
- 1Read all codes: if the speed sensors for the other shafts also have codes, the fault may lie in the control module
- 2Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 3Have a workshop decide whether the sensor should be replaced or whether the control module is at fault, since a new module must be programmed after replacement

- The malfunction indicator lamp (Check engine) comes on or behaves abnormally
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- No forward or reverse movement in gear
- Gear changes are harsh or jerky
- Gear changes take a long time
